Well worry no more because you can throw all your stresses away once you find out that some of the best carpet cleaning solutions are just under your noses. There are a lot of home remedies which you can use to clean up your carpet. Here are some tips on how to handle carpet and rug stains at home:
Regular cleaning
First up, you have to clean your rug and carpet regularly. This is not a remedy but more of a preventive measure. Vacuuming daily really helps a lot in preventing dust and dirt from accumulating within the fibers of your rug or carpet.
Spot cleaning
No matter how careful you are, there will always be incidents where you will stain your precious rug or carpet. The important thing you need to note is that you should clean the spot right away. The easiest solution is to mix white vinegar and water. Grab a piece of cloth and dip it into the solution. Then, gently dab it over the area. Let it sit for a while then rinse with water using the same procedure.
Odor removal
Some carpets or rugs have odor problems especially the old ones which have already been through a lot. And you need not look farther just to find the best solution for it. Baking soda is one effective way to remove the stench. Just sprinkle baking soda over the entire rug or carpet. Let it sit of a while then clean up using a vacuum cleaner.
Deep cleaning
It is a must for you to deep clean your carpets and rugs at least once a year. To do so, you don’t really need an expensive cleaning detergent. The simple solution is to create a paste made of white vinegar and baking soda and apply it sparingly over the rug or carpet. Then leave it to dry. Once it’s in powdered form, just run the vacuum cleaner and you’re all set.
