Removing Liquor Stains from Carpets

One of the most common problems with carpeted floors is liquor stains. No matter how careful we are, there will always be a time when we ourselves, or some house guests, would spill some wine, beer, bubbly, cocktail mixes or other alcoholic beverages into our carpets.
The thing about these beverages is that aside from the smell, they usually leave a mark which can be very challenging to remove. But don’t fret because even if it’s challenging, it’s not impossible. In fact you can say it’s easy as long as you know exactly what you’re supposed to do. And here are some tips to help you out:
Tip no. 1
For fresh spills, try to absorb the excess liquid using paper towels. You can also use cloth but make sure that it’s the highly absorbent type. This will prevent the spill from spreading to a wider area as the cloth tries to absorb the spill instead. Be careful not to rub or blot or press too hard. Just place the towel gently over the area. Rubbing or blotting may cause the liquid to sink into the carpet’s fabric.
Tip no. 2
For all types of liquor stains, pray on some cold water over it and leave it there for around fifteen minutes. This will soften up the stain so when you remove it already, it will be easier.
Tip no. 3
Create a baking soda and vinegar paste. You can use either white vinegar or apple cider vinegar. Apply the paste over the affected area and let it sit until it becomes dry or goes back to its powdered for already. Then use the vacuum cleaner to remove the powder.
Tip no. 3
Use white wine to remove red wine stains. There’s no exact explanation to this, but white wine helps remove the red wine stain easily.
Tip no. 4
Another solution that can help remove alcohol stains is a mixture of rubbing alcohol and white vinegar. Mix them into a sprayer in a 1:1 proportion and spray it over the affected area. let it sit for a few minutes and then rinse and dry. Repeat the steps as needed.
Tip no. 5
Beer stains can usually be removed easily by dishwashing detergents. Dilute it with water and spray it over the area or blot using a cloth or sponge to remove the stain gently. After a few minutes use warm water to rinse it the first time and then cold water to rinse it the second time.
