Cleaning Upholstery

Upholstery can be very expensive. However, they add a high degree of sophistication to any space, while maintaining a level of comfort and relaxation.
If you’ve not been properly maintaining your upholstery, now is the time to start. I’m almost certain that you wouldn’t want to see your hard-earned money spiraling down the drain.
Cleaning your upholstery can take two paths; hiring professional cleaners or doing it yourself. Professional services often attract a higher cost, but I’ll provide you with some easy steps to clean your upholstery without having to hire those pricey services.
How to Clean Your Upholstery

1.  Vacuum.
It’s inevitable for stains and spots to plague your upholstery. As a result, it is crucial that you vacuum them before starting the cleaning process. Besides, dirt and dust may be concealed in the fibers, so it’s quite important to remove them.
If your upholstery gets wet and the moisture combines with the hidden dirt and dust, the dirt may spread and cause more damage. Consequently, properly vacuuming the crevices and corners with an upholstery attachment is recommended.
2.  Blot spills ASAP!

Longtime stains may possibly become embedded in upholsteries that are very old. Nevertheless, if something spills on it and soaks in the coating of the upholstery, then it may leave a permanent stain which can be difficult to remove.
As a result, you should clean up any spill on the upholstery as soon as you discover any. However, you should not scrub it. Doing so may cause the couch’s fibers to become damaged. Additionally, blotting should take place in a small region to prevent the stain from spreading.
3.  General Cleaning
After blotting the spill, you can mix a solution of soap and water to clean the upholstery.
-      Get some soapy water and a microfiber cloth.
-      Use the soapy water to gently wipe the area.
-      Allow it to soak into the material to remove dirt and debris. Using a large quantity of water is not recommended! The fabric may become saturated.
-      Use fresh, clean water to rinse.
-      Allow it to dry outside.
